Just come back from a top tier LT event. It was made great by a load of players in a faction I have just joined. They welcomed me and a new group of LARPers into their fold and together we had a laugh. Their patience and willing just sparked off an interest in that game that will keep them going for years to come.
I speak to a lot of folks from many games and I find this is not universal kindness. In a different setting I am informed OOC concerns about a bitter event are being swept under the rug by some leaders declaring it doesn’t matter. I find this so odd.
So, to those who find their pleasure in exclusion, power or conspiracy let me remind you of this:
You dress up in a field and play pretend for a hobby. You’re a storyteller – not a tyrant, not a puppet master (And you’re probably in a daft robe of some sort – we all are.)
Don’t deny to others what you found here.
We’re already the outcasts. Together we have found skills we never knew we had and people we never would have met. Don’t add to the list of people that have already made that new blood feel unwelcome in life.
We’re better than this.
Thanks again to the Lions and co. Top notch events. Here’s hoping one day, thanks to the good experience my lot had, they will know a better status quo. I have faith that one day they will pay it back.
